Getting started

Four steps take you from registration to your first video consultation. This page walks you through them — using the exact wording you will see in MEDITyme.

Four steps to your first video consultation

Step 1

Register as a service provider — personal data, address and tariff.

Step 2

Confirm the e-mail code and the SMS code, choose your specialization.

Step 3

Fill in your profile, professional details and treatment options.

Step 4

Set up consultation hours in the calendar and accept your first request.

1. Create your account

Click Sign up at the top right. In the Registration window, under “I would like to register as”, choose Service provider — not “Patient”. This determines which features your account gets.

Then fill in your first and last name, e-mail address, password, date of birth, gender, mobile phone number and address, and pick a tariff. The e-mail address matters: every request, invitation and invoice goes there. You will be asked to confirm the terms and conditions for experts, the privacy policy and the declaration of consent.

You do not have to commit to a tariff right away — you can change it at any time under Settings → Tarif management.

2. Confirm your e-mail address and phone number

After submitting, you will see “Check your e-mail inbox”. We send you a confirmation code; enter it in the Email verification window. If nothing arrives, check your spam folder first, then use Resend.

In the same flow, Setup phone number registers your mobile number — the code arrives by SMS. The number protects your account and is never passed on without your consent. Under Choose specializations you state your professional qualification; you can change it later at any time.

3. Complete your profile

Everything else lives under Settings → Profile. Go through these before your first consultation:

  • Basic information and Profile details — name, photo, description. This is what patients see first.
  • Categories — decides which specialty you are listed under.
  • Professional details — your lifelong physician number (LANR), practice number (BSNR) and a scan of your signature, which is printed on prescriptions.
  • Treatment options — here you decide whether you accept patient requests for statutory (GKV) video consultations, whether you treat private patients under the German GoÄ fee schedule, and whether you offer hourly billing for self-payers. Also here: whether a call may be recorded and whether personal chat is open.
  • Documents and Practice/Office Details — credentials and details about your practice.
  • Search — controls whether and how your profile can be found publicly.

Generate the KBV confirmation inside MEDITyme

Once LANR and BSNR are saved under Professional details, the section Generate and download KBV confirmation document appears there. You do not need a form from anywhere else: the document is generated with your data and is available for download immediately. If LANR or BSNR are still missing, the page tells you so.

4. Set up your consultation hours and take your first appointment

Appointment types, consultation hours and patient self-booking are configured in the calendar. The detailed calendar guide describes this step by step. Incoming appointment requests and all scheduled calls are under Calls.

Already have a patient account?

Then you do not need to register again. Under Settings → update profile you start the Profile upgrade. You accept the extended terms and conditions for experts and provide your company details including the legal representative. After that, complete your profile as described in step 3 and check your visibility as well as your pricing and billing information.

One thing almost nobody knows

Under Settings → Profile → FAQ you can publish your own questions and answers. They appear on your profile and cover exactly the questions that would otherwise reach your practice by phone — prescriptions, referrals, or how a video consultation works.

Still stuck?

Technical questions are answered on the Technology and troubleshooting page. If that does not help, write to support@medityme.com.

For therapy and counselling practices

Everything here applies equally to psychotherapy, nutrition and health counselling, physiotherapy and pharmacies. Choose your specialty when you register; appointment types such as first session, follow-up or consultation are set up in the calendar.

On the go: the MEDITyme app

With the app for iPhone and Android you always have your appointments, your patient documentation and the messenger with you. Start video consultations, share your screen, create follow-up appointments and let patients know when you are running late. The app is currently in testing.
